Meeting Minutes
President Billy Franke opened the meeting and called on Robert Osborne who led the pledge and invocation. Brett Montroy introduced the guests and visiting Rotarians. Barclay Bishop gave the Sunshine Report and shared some facts about Halloween and jack-o-lanterns and congratulated several Rotarians celebrating their club anniversaries.
President Billy gave thanks to last week’s Club Cart Challenger, Butch Whiddon, and the Outside Challenger, Baird & Company, who helped us raise $ 347 for the fund.
The Club CART Challenger for the meeting is Charlie Schafer and there is no outside challenger.
President Billy made the following announcements/presentations:
10-27 is the tour of Plant Vogtle for those that signed up to participate. Please remember to contact Zsolt if you are planning on doing anything fun or different. We have 4 service projects coming up. The first one will be on November 7th. More to come about this exciting project at next week’s meeting. Our President Elect is coming in November. Please remember to register!
Billy introduc new memeber Clay Jolly. Welcome to Augusta Rotary, Clay Jolly.
Phil Wahl introduced our speaker, Mike Crapps. Mr. Crapps began by giving a good history of the Federal Reserve starting with the closing of the 2nd federal bank in 1836. He explored the mission of the Federal Reserve and explained the dual mandate. Mike then spent some time explaining how the Federal Reserve Market Committee works and some of the items they discuss on their agenda.
The meeting was adjourned following the recital of the Four-Way Test.
