Meeting Minutes
President Billy Franke called the meeting to order.
David Hudson led the pledge of Allegiance and the invocation.
Amy Hall introduced our guests and visiting Rotarians.
August 31 meeting CART sponsor and the outside challenger, Carl Brown raised $758.78 for CART. This week?s CART sponsor is Sandy Dyches and the outside challenger is Jani-King of Augusta.
Richard Rogers gave the Sunshine Report. Richard Rogers also announce that Leland Malchow was named in Best Lawyers in America 2016. No Interact student visitors this week.
President Billy made the following announcements and presentations:
-President Billy called on Bob Evans to announce that on February 15th Rotary International President Elect John Germ will speak to our group as well as other clubs at the Marriott. He will be president of RI they year the International Convention is held in Atlanta. You can register for the February 15th meeting at the Marriott at www.rotary6920.org
President Billy introduced our speaker, Zsolt Pap our GRSP student from Hungary, who spoke on his country.
Zsolt was born in Sweden, is a Hungarian citizen, graduated from the Corvinus Business University of Budapest and is currently working on his MBA.
Zsolt explained the change in Hungary since it was established in 1000. As a result of World War I, Hungary is 35% of its original size. The population of Hungary is 10 million, the capital is Budapest. Tourism is an important and growing part of Hungary?s economy. Budapest has a lot to offer. Museums and galleries, churches and synagogues, palaces and historic buildings make Hungary highly rated as a top tourist value by Forbes, CNN, and others. Zsolt?s mother works as a tour guide. Please call Mom when you visit Hungary.
President Billy thanked Zsolt for his presentation.
President Billy placed a stone at each seat for each person to take as a reminder that service is like the ongoing ripple effect caused by a stone when thrown in the water.
President Billy led the club in the 4-Way Test and adjourned the meeting.
