Meeting Minutes
President Jerry opened the meeting and called on Barry White who led the pledge and invocation.
Christine Miller introduced the guests and visiting Rotarians and Media Guest:
Tim Rausch of the Augusta Chronicle, Jorge Lopez of WRDW channel 12 and Thurman Claiborne of WAGT channel 26.
President Jerry gave thanks to last week's Club CART Challenger, Leland Malchow and Nimmons and Malchow, who helped us raise $237.50 for the fund. This week's CART challenger is Charles Stewart.
President Jerry made the following announcements/presentations:
- This is the last week to buy your mandatory raffle tickets to support the District conference.
- This is also the last week to register for the District Rotary Conference on Friday.
- Herb Upton and TR Reddy attended the District Grant seminar and found that as a result of your Rotary Foundation contributions we have been awarded $4,000.00 that can be used as a local grant next year.
- Golf Tournament is May 19th at The River Club. We need players and door prizes.
Visiting Rotarian Pam Lightsey gave an update on Polio Plus.
President Jerry recognized Kevin Wade as a Paul Harris + 2 Fellow.
Member Eddie Booth presented a Memorial Resolution for Hugh Green. Hugh joined the Augusta Rotary club in 1992 and was a member for 22 years. Hugh served as president from 1998 - 1999, was a Paul Harris and Will Watt Fellow. In attendance were Hugh's wife Jane and his sister Corrille Dewitt.

Guest Speaker:
Randy Hatcher introduced our guest speaker Lee Thomas. Lee an Atlanta native has served in various roles since 1996 and is currently the Deputy Commissioner of Film, Music & Digital Entertainment for the state of Georgia.
Topic:
Lee explained the State of Georgia tax credits that are available to the film and television industry. Over 100 new companies have moved to Georgia to support the industry and its 5.1 Billion dollar economic impact on the State of Georgia.
President Jerry announced no meeting next Monday.
The meeting was adjourned after reciting the Four-Way test.
