Guest Speaker/Program

Abagail Kelly, Volunteer and Engagement Coordinator of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Augusta gave a brief overview of the organization and the 8 clubs in the area.

She then introduced our speaker, Miss. Antoniyah Rolland, a 10th grader at AR Johnson Health Science and Engineering Magnet School.

Antoniyah gave a passionate testimonial to the power and impact of the Boys and Girls Clubs on her life.  She was raised by her grandmother due to the absence of her mother for long periods of time.  Her grandmother enrolled her in many activities to help her grow and develop while dealing with the stress and anxiety of not having her mother around.

The Boys and Girls Club gave her the confidence to overcome these struggles and showed her that she has the power within herself to succeed.  Antoniyah has a strong belief in her school, her club, and her community.  Even at such a young age she has demonstrated leadership qualities that will serve her well as she pursues her career goal of becoming a nurse practitioner.

President Bill led us in reciting the four-way test and then adjourned the meeting.
