Member Highlight-This week’s Member Spotlight is on Brenda Durant, the Executive Director of the Greater Augusta Arts Council, and a long-time member of the Augusta Rotary Club. Brenda first learned about the Rotary through her father who was a Rotarian in Waynesboro. Brenda enjoys learning more about our community through the informative speakers at Rotary and especially enjoys fellow-Rotarian, Faye Hargrove’s Sunshine Reports. Brenda grew up in Great Neck, New York, before her parents moved with their seven children to Augusta. Five of her seven siblings work in the downtown Augusta area. Brenda is involved in numerous community organizations and coordinates Arts Day for Leadership Augusta each year. She is married to Ed, and they have three adult children and two grandsons, Gunner and Hank. Brenda was a travel agent for a decade, so she has been fortunate to visit many places and particularly enjoyed traveling to Seoul, Korea, Japan, and Hong Kong. In her free time, Brenda enjoys reading, walking, live music, and camping.
