Meeting Minutes
President Ed rang the bell and called the meeting to order. The pledge and invocation were given by Jeff Flowers. Daniel Rhodes welcomed our guests and visiting Rotarians. Thanks to John Whitwell and the outside challenger, Premier Network Services, the club raised $392.88 for CART at our last meeting. Richard Rodgers gave our Sunshine Report.
Announcements:
- Patrick Culligan discussed the Rotary District Grant: Human Trafficking Awareness Training.
- The club golf tournament will be held May 1st. Contact Frank Mulherin to sign up.
- Susan Everitt gave an update on the Red Cross Project: Sound the Alarm. Volunteers are needed.
- President Ed stated the Paul Harriss Foundation Incentive was a success with 31 new or increased PHF levels.
- There is still time to register for the District Conference at the end of April on Jekyll Island.
Program:
Phil Wahl introduced our guest speaker Scott Seidl, Executive Director of the Augusta Players. Scott discussed the Augusta Junior Players, Art Reach Theatre, the Musical Theatre Summer Camp and Camp Wonderland. Camp Wonderland is a summer arts camp for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder between the ages of 7 to 21. Each child is teamed with a Junior Augusta player and experiences theater through music, art and drama. Scott mentioned the 2018 Augusta Players season. Two cast members from the upcoming play, The Little Mermaid sang parts of the play to the club.
Following the presentation, President Ed led us in reciting the four-way test and then adjourned the meeting.
The next meeting will be April 16th. The program will Jakob’s GRSP year in review.
