Meeting Minutes
President Ed Presnell called the meeting to order. Ella Catherine Williams led the club in the pledge and Mercer Hogg gave the invocation. The Rotary Moment was provided by our GRSP student, Jakob Fahl, who discussed his Christmas traditions back home and then led a group dance around the room. Carson Williams introduced our visiting guests and Rotarians. CART raised $565.56 last week with inside challenger Paul Wade and Bob Evans from Richmond Supply as the outside challenger. This week the inside challenger is Leland Malchow and his law firm Nimmons, Malchow, and Johnson is the outside challenger. Sam Means provided the Sunshine Report.
ANNOUNCEMENTS AND INTRODUCTIONS
Jakob Fahl, our GRSP student, will be in town for the holidays. Please coordinate with Tom Denlinger if you would like to include Jakob in your holiday plans.
Thanks to Shanda Vaughn, Jennifer Pennington, Phil Wahl, Susan Jernigan, Steve Foushee and everyone in various roles, especially our Rotary members’ children on the agenda, AND the Warren Road Elementary School Chorus who helped The Family of Rotary Committee plan our Holiday Celebration. The Rotary children were TERRIFIC! Thank you to Steve Foushee for providing Bruster’s ice cream for everyone.
PROGRAM:
Today we had many special guests as Rotarians brought their kids and grandkids to celebrate Christmas with us, some of whom participated in the program. We also had a very special visit from Santa Claus who arrived to a splendid rendition of Jingle Bells. Santa stayed to visit with all of the children and wished everyone a Merry Christmas!
Our next meeting will be on January 8th and we will have our very own Susan Everitt present on the American Red Cross.
