Meeting Minutes
President Jennifer Pennington rang the bell and called the meeting to order. The pledge and invocation was given by Erick Montgomery. President Jennifer gave a “Rotary Moment”. She discussed the Rotary Club of Bihac, in Austria. Every year they hold the Rotary Kanjon for nature lovers, walkers, cyclists, and runners to enjoy the unique beauty of the canyon of Una River. John Sebby welcomed our guests and visiting Rotarians. Thanks to Jeanette Cummings, the club raised $174.508 for CART at our last meeting. Bill Keogh was todays inside challenger. Gould Hagler gave our Sunshine Report.
Announcements:
- David Fields introduced new member Conley Braun. Welcome to Rotary, Conley Braun!
- Ed Presnell invited the club to attend the International Convention which will be this year in Atlanta on June 10th -14th. More information can be found at the reconvention.org or on the district website.
Program:
Randy Hatcher introduced our guest speaker Congressman Rick Allen. Rick Allen is the US Representative of Georgia’s 12th District. Rick discussed the “the Power of the Spouse”. He talked about fixing healthcare, how to get 25 million people back to work, tax reform and the need to roll back Federal regulation.
Following the presentation, President Jennifer led us in reciting the four way test and then adjourned the meeting.
Next meeting May 22, 2017 and the speaker will be Gretchen Corbin, Commissioner, Technical College System of Georgia.
