Meeting Minutes
President Jennifer Pennington rang the bell and called the meeting to order. The pledge and invocation was given by Erick Montgomery. President Jennifer gave a “Rotary Moment” and told the club about National Immunization Day that will be occurring on January 29th. She shared comments from Rotarians that had attended past events in India. Willie Williams welcomed our guests and visiting Rotarians. Last week we raised $58 for the Cart Fund at our Holiday Meeting. Faye Hargrove gave our Sunshine Report.

Laverne Gold introduced the winners of the Rotary Speech Contest. Emily Rogers was first place winner. Delile Lamb was runner up.
Program:
John Snider introduced our guest speaker, Laurie Ott, VP-HR and Community Services, President of University Health Care Foundation spoke on the role of the Foundation and hospital in Augusta.
University Health Care System is a not for profit hospital located in Augusta, GA and have been caring for the community since 1818. The hospital leads the region in heart and vascular care.
University Health Care Foundation is a philanthropic arm of the University Health Care System that supports cancer patients, mobile mammography, and prevention and health education initiatives in the Augusta area through a number of endowments and funds.
Following the presentation, President Jennifer led us in reciting the four-way test and then adjourned the meeting.
Next meeting January 30, 2017. Dr. Roscoe Williams will be speaking on Race Relations in the CSRA: Past, Present and Future.
