Meeting Minutes

President John Whitwell called the meeting to order. Rev. Jeff Flowers led the Pledge of Allegiance and offered the meal blessing. Richard Rodgers offered the Sunshine Report. Tim Owings is the CART Challenger this week and Morgan Stanley is the Outside Challenger.

The Rotary Club of Augusta Golf Tournament is next Tuesday, May 20th, at the River Club. Registration is still open through the end of this week.

Billy Franke offered a District Grant Project report on the work at Pendleton King Park. The waterfall has been constructed and is in operation to aerate and cleanse the water in the pond. Many thanks go to all those who came to help make this happen. This Saturday, May 17th, will be another Rotary work day at the park from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Please wear long pants and work boots, and bring work gloves to help finish the work we have undertaken there.

President John announced that there will be a Red Badge Orientation meeting this afternoon at 4:30 at Kevin Wade's office on Greene Street.

There will be no Monday meeting for the next two weeks. The golf tournament will serve in that capacity for next week and the following Monday is Memorial Day. The following Monday, June 2, our guest speaker will be Clint Bryant, athletic director at GRU.

Ned Murray introduced this week's guest speaker, Kevin Grogan, from the Morris Museum of Art in downtown Augusta. Kevin shared with us about the history and holdings of the museum and invited everyone to come and learn more through the many educational and participatory offerings the museum provides to the Augusta community.

The meeting concluded with the recitation of the Four-Way Test and dismissal.
