Meeting Minutes

Walter Sprouse gave the pledge and prayer

Tom Tuckey gave the sunshine report and announced birthdays, club anniversaries, and wedding anniversaries.

Had a Blue Badge exchange for Pete Mitchfelder (sp)

Frank Mulherin reminded the club of the Rotary Golf Tournament scheduled for Tuesday, May 20th at the River Club.

District Conference is scheduled for May 2nd to 4th in Jekyle Island.

Next Week's speaker will be our GRSP student and congratulations to him for making the Dean's List.

Eric Montgomery introduced a new member, Christine Miller Butts, Director of the Laney Museum.

Tim Owings introduced our speaker, Daryl Leech. He is the manager of the Marriott Convention Center
- He discussed the success of the convention center, etc.
- 2013, the center held 36 events and produced $10.1 Million of economic impact to the area
- Mary Kay cosmetics was their largest convention
- 2014 has 25 events scheduled so far which will result in $9.1 Million of economic impact to the area
Presentation ended with various questions from the audience
