Meeting Minutes

Vice President Billy Franke called the August 11, 2014, meeting to order and welcomed all Rotarians and guests. This is Membership Month.

The Pledge of Allegiance and Invocation were delivered by Steve Farmer. Susan Barcus welcomed visiting Rotarians and guests. Vice President Billy Franke thanked last week's CART challenger, Len Collins and the outside challenger Warlick, Tritt, Stebbins & Murray. The cart contributions and match amounted to $383.32.

This week the CART Challenger is Betty Dyches and the Outside Challenger is Jesse Cummins. The Sunshine report was given by Richard Rogers.

Vice President Billy Franke introduced our Georgia Rotary Student, Aline Lemes. Aline was joined by Maria Aguilera who is being sponsored by the Washington, Putnam, McDuffie, and Columbia County clubs.

Our Program speaker was introduced by Marc Miller. Ken Guion, MD, Chief Diversity Officer at Georgia Regents University explained how GRU is meeting diversity and inclusion challenges.

The meeting closed with the four way test, led by President Vice President Billy Franke. The bell rang to adjourn the meeting.
