Meeting Minutes
President Jerry opened his first official meeting as President and called on Jim Price who led the pledge and invocation. President Jerry reminded the club that today is Club Assembly and following a short agenda we would break up into committees to work on assignments. He called on Haskell Toporek to give a report of the James M. Hull Education Fund. Haskell recognized two outgoing members of the committee, Marc Miller and Jim Puryear, and thanked them for their service. He gave a special recognition to Jim Puryear for nearly 30 years of service on the Hull Fund. Haskell reported that Richard Rogers and Larry Broyles will be coming onto the board and joining Connie Melear, Brinsley Thigpen, Eddie Booth, and Jeff Futrelle. During the year, the Hull Fund gave away nearly $47,000 in scholarships and grants to individuals and organizations for educational purposes.
Chris Mckinney introduced the guests and visiting Rotarians. President Jerry gave thanks to last week?s Club CART Challenger, Neita Mulherin, and our outside challenger, Judy Kaye with Meybohm Realty, who helped us raise $299.98 for the fund. This week's CART Challenger is Russ Morgan and the outside challengers are Billy Shafer Jr. and Regions Bank. President Jerry called on Richard Rogers to give the Sunshine Report. President Jerry called on Max Stachura who introduced our newest member, Mr. Brett Montroy. Brett is a member of the in-house legal counsel for GRU.
At the conclusion of his reports and presentations, we moved into the Club Assembly portion of the meeting.
The meeting was adjourned following the recital of the Four-Way Test.
