PROGRAM:

President Ed introduced our speaker, Jakob Fahl who is our GRSP student this year. Jakob gave a delightful presentation on his hometown of Artus in Denmark and introduced us to his family via pictures.

Jakob was born in 1997 in Denmark but moved to England when he was 11. His family relocated there when his mother began teaching at the European School in Culham. The school was just south of Oxford and so Jakob was exposed to many of the historic treasures of the 11th century.

Jakob is very active in sports and music. He currently plays on the Augusta University club soccer team and is accomplished playing four instruments. While in high school, he was a member of two local bands before everyone headed off to school. His entire family is gifted in music and his dad is a full-time musician following a career as an engineer.

Jakob has made the Dean’s List during his first semester at AU and he hopes to return to Copenhagen University to study math following his time in the GRSP program. President Ed added that 20 years ago, Jakob’s mother was a GRSP student sponsored by the Savannah Club.

Our next meeting will be February 5th and our speaker will be Janice Jackson who will give an update on the city of Augusta.

We adjourned with the four-way test.
