Meeting Minutes
President John opened the meeting and called on Betty Dyches who led the pledge and invocation.
Susan Jernigan introduced the guests and visiting Rotarians. Interact guest were Hannah Farmer and Mike Cheesborough. President John gave thanks to last week's Club CART Challenger, Sony Tucker, and the Outside Challenger, Gerald Jones Audi which raised $312.22 for the fund. This week's CART Challenger is Sandy Dyches and the outside challenger is the Haskins Co. Tom Tuckey provided the Sunshine Report. President John provided announcements and reminders.
- Emma Kate Few won the Zone speech contest and will represent our club at the District Conference.
- Deadline for early registration for District Conference May 2 -4 on Jekyll Island is March 31, you may still register after March 31.
- The District Governor is challenging each Rotarian to sell two raffle tickets to support the District Raffle. Tickets are $20.00 for 50 $500.00 gift card prizes.
- Please consider selling District raffle tickets.
- President John presented Jeb Murray with his blue badge.
- A membership development meeting was conducted after the scheduled meeting.
- Our program next week is "Augusta golf capital of the world".
- We are having our Club Golf Tournament on Tuesday, May 20th at the River Golf Club. Contact Frank Mulherin at 706-414-4922 or fmulherin@weinbergersfurniture.com to sign up.
Tim Owings introduced the guest speaker for today, Dr. Joe Bowden. His presentation was "Masters Reflections Fifty + Years". Dr. Bowden shared a rare and informative look at the people that established the Augusta National through the current leadership of the Augusta National.
President John thanked the speaker and adjourned following the recital of the Four-Way test.
