Meeting Minutes

President Jerry opened the meeting and reminded all that we are celebrating Vocational Service Month. He also brought to our attention a new magazine that highlights much about what Rotary is doing and that the Club?s support helps many endeavors. These endeavors include Foundation Global Grants that are training Midwives in Malawi, helping prevent HIV/AIDS in children in Liberia, education mothers about nutrition in the Gaza Strip, and creating human milk banks in India.

President Jerry called on Jeff Flowers who led the pledge and invocation.

Frank Ward introduced the guests and visiting Rotarians and Trex Bolick welcomed the Interact Guests.

President Jerry gave thanks to last week?s Club Cart Challenger, Tom Kiernan, and the Outside Challenger, SunTrust Bank, who helped us raise $287.38 for the fund. The Club CART Challenger for the meeting is Carl Brown.

President Jerry noted that on November 13th at the Augusta West Club they will be sponsoring and event to help CART. An official announcement with more details will be come next week.

The event from Morris Communications is a new civics initiative to inspire Americans to ask: What can you do for your country? The kickoff for the event will be tomorrow night, October 28th, at the Legends Club.
