| Meeting Minutes for Monday, June 21, 2010 |
The meeting was called to order by President Bob followed by the Pledge and Invocation led by Jeanette Cummings.
Cab Stitt welcomed the guests and visiting Rotarians.
The Cart Challenger for this week was Charles Coleman and was collected in memory of Barbara Botts.
Thom Tuckey presented the Sunshine Report.
Robert Osborne made a Paul Harris Fellow presentation to Jack Hall. Jacks wife, daughter and son were in attendance. President Bob congratulated Jack and welcomed him as a new Paul Harris Fellow.
A check was presented to the Boy Scouts of America.
Paul Dainer made a Paul Harris Fellow presentation to Kevin Steffes. Kevins wife, son, and daughter were in attendance. President Bob congratulated Kevin and welcomed him as a new Paul Harris Fellow.
President Bob discussed a positive meeting he had with the new board and the promising outlook for the upcoming year.
President Bob conducted the program for the day titled Year in Review. Major topics included Membership, Attendance, Committees, Board of Directors, Rotary Foundation and Paul Harris Fellows, Social Activities, Organizations Supported by the Club, and Service Projects throughout the year. Some of the major highlights were:
- 18 new members
- 3 members remembered (Cason Bruker, Barbara Botts, and Pat Sizemore)
- Mr. Gene Cook, a guest of President Bob and who has 51 years perfect attendance, assisted in recognizing perfect attendance from 1 year to Bill Kemp who has perfect attendance totaling at least 53 years
- Recognized the outstanding service of 10 program committee Chairs and 12 additional Chairs for Community Service, Vocational Service, International Service, and Club Service
- Recognized the outstanding service of the Board of Directors
- Recognized that the Paul Harris Fellows to-date equals 217
- Recognized that the Club has an all-time giving of over $350,000 with over $50,000 collected this past year in dues and voluntary contributions
- Reviewed the social events for the Club this past year that included the Golf Tournament, the Holiday Social, and the Founders Dinner
- Noted that 18 different organizations were supported by the Club this past year with 6 different Service Projects also supported by the Club to include the United Way
President Bob ended the presentation by personally thanking all who served with their time and effort over the past year. He also gave a special Thank You to the Club for allowing him to serve as our President over the past year.
The meeting was adjourned with the 4-way test.
