Meeting Minutes for Monday, April 12, 2010
President Bob opened the meeting and called on David Hudson who led the pledge and invocation.

The guests and visiting Rotarians were introduced. Dave Steele introduced Jamie Gordons mother, Katie, and two brothers who were visiting from Scotland.

President Bob called on Richard Rogers to give the Sunshine Report.

President Bob called on Jeff Futrelle to introduce our newest Paul Harris Fellow, Steve Foushee. Steves family joined him at the podium for the presentation. Congratulations to Steve for this recognition and thanks for all of your contributions to our community.

Randy Hatcher presented President Bob with a flag from the Bainbridge Rotary Club.

President Bob introduced Pam Lightsey from the Augusta West Club. Pam reminded the club that raffle tickets were still available for purchase. Proceeds benefit the efforts of the Southeastern Firefighters Burn Foundation.

Pam also introduced Nandoo, who is the leader of the Group Study Exchange Team from India. Nandoo introduced the members of the group; Keshava, Dr. Karthik Shetty, Dr. Srikoushthubha and Ramyashree. Each member spoke briefly about their club and presented President Bob with a flag.

President Bob called on Frank Mulherin who gave an update of the upcoming Rotary Golf Tournament and also reminded everyone to fill out a committee assignment form if they had not already done so.

Jeanette Cummings introduced our guest speaker, Randy Griffin, President of CSRA Business Lending. Randy spoke about the SBA 504 program that provides low, fixed rate loans to small businesses. This program has been in existence since 1979 and was introduced by Senator Sam Nunn and signed into law by President Ronald Reagan. CSRA Business Lending ranks 35th out of nearly 300 national providers of the program. It currently manages an $80 million loan portfolio.

Randy acknowledged several of his customers, business partners, and Board Members who are active club members. In closing, he shared with us a personal story about his experience playing college football at Georgia Southern which demonstrated the character and integrity of the legendary Coach Erk Russell.


The meeting was adjourned following the recital of the Four-Way Test.
