Meeting Minutes

President Scott Williams rang the bell and called the meeting to order.

Jim Price gave the pledge and invocation. Thanks to our inside challengers Brittany Burnette and Betty Dyches we raised $470.45 for CART at our last meeting.  This week the inside challenger is Chris McKinney and the outside challenger is SNAK Properties, LLC. Daniel Rhodes introduced our guests and visiting Rotarians. Gould Hagler gave the Sunshine Report. 

Announcements:

• Rotary Family Night will be held Thursday August 1 at the Greenjackets baseball game.  Additional details will follow closer to time.
• District Assembly will be held July 27 in Dublin.  Anyone interested in attending can register at www.rotarydistrict6920.org.
• Susan Jernigan and Billy Franke will co-host our GRSP student, William Christian Baerenholdt from Vejle, Denmark.  William is scheduled to arrive August 3. 

Program:

President Scott instructed the club to break off into groups in order for our committees to conduct our annual Club Assembly once today’s business is concluded.  Committee lists were available on the tables and it is highly recommended that all members use the www.DacDb.com website to stay up to date on club matters.  This resource provides a wealth of information about the club and our members.

He introduced the full Board and discussed this year’s theme “Rotary Connects the World” as set by Rotary International President Mark Daniel Maloney.

For the 2019-2020 Rotary year, our Board wants to continue to focus on eradicating Polio, finding a cure for Alzheimer’s, and supporting our local youth.  We also want to focus on opportunities to give back to the community through service.

Fun will continue to be a part of our Rotary year as we build on the many social opportunities started last year. 

Following his remarks, President Scott led us in reciting the four-way test and then adjourned the meeting so that we could begin our Club Assembly.
