Meeting Minutes
President Leland Malchow rang the bell and called the meeting to order. The pledge and invocation was given by Jim Price. Jeff Simless welcomed our guests and visiting Rotarians. Thanks to our inside challenger, Tripp Harrison and the outside challenger, Ashley Hock Smith, the club raised $390 for CART at our last meeting. This week the inside challenger is Neita Mulherin and our outside challenger is Fran Forehand. Brad Means gave our Sunshine Report.
Announcements:
- Pam Lightsey gave information on a training class to fight Human Trafficking. The class will be Thursday, May 2, 2019 at the Goodwill 3145 Washington Road.
- Rotary Golf Tournament will be held Saturday May 7, 2019 at the River Club in North Augusta
- The Hull Fund will meet immediately following today’s club meeting.
New Members:
Anna Reeves introduced Tariq Robinson as a new member to Rotary.
Program:
Paul Dainer introduced our guest speaker, Dr. Kirim with the Augusta University Cancer Center. Dr. Kirim spoke about the four stages of cancer and possible treatments. The name of the presentation was “DEFEAT LUNG CANCER”.
Following the presentation, President Leland led us in reciting the four way test and then adjourned the meeting.
Next meeting April 15, 2019 and the speaker will be a STATE LEGISLATOR. Due to Masters week, we will not meet on April 8, 2019.
